Hi Leroy,
Quick question, since you’re NZ based.
What have you done regarding cvt oil?
Can’t seem to source genuine Subaru high torque fluid (orange for my model).
Have you found anything or did you go with Motul,Penrite or Castrol?
Hi

I havnt actually done anything with the CVT fluid yet its on the to do list as I'm getting close to 100k kms.

I honestly might take to Subaru to another dealer as I've never done before.
There are others on here that have done no issues but not NZ based sorry doesn't help much

Alright realise its been quite a while since ive updated here..been trying to save money and not really focused on car honestly its at a point where im pretty happy so havnt been wanting for much.

what's happened in the last year....

New Battery - Subaru blue battery decided to not hold charge replaced

Front windows
I've mentioned in another post but my front passenger and drivers sides started to get worse and to a point that it was hard to see out of, i took to a window tint place they had no idea, then i went to a panel beater guy and he thought it was a some kind of film thats corroded / or contaminated, he tried to clean, but no luck with chemicals. We tried a razor blade dry, and it actually got it off.
Went home with a bag of razor blades, spent most of the day slowly scraping the film off. Was hard work, and took quite a while but its clear now, and the glass still smooth, so far no issues. Very odd, the residue was yellow crystalline sort of stuff.

Rear plastic trim repaint

So don't do what i did, if your going to repaint your chrome bits, do it right.
My rear trim started top peel, its a total PITA to remove that piece, but after removing, gave it a sand and applied some plastic adhesion promotor. After 3 coats of flat black looking good, hopefully holds up better this time

Ski seasons over so time to take of wheels and give them a clean inside, no matter how much hosing and cleaning still seems to be there, so hard to get inside the rim

STI battery holder
Had to do it, no real function other than looks but i like it

Shining Speed - Rear diffuser extension

Ok i was expecting something more to this kit, could have made this myself, however came with nice bolts and a shining speed magazine. :)
I always thought my diffuser was too high, so this kit is a bracket that drops the diffuser 10 or 20mm (adjustable)

Easy install, remove original 4x bolts and insert extender, tighten and all done. Happy with results

It looks like its on a slight angle in the photos, but its straight in person :)

ok wasnt straight off by a few mm.. have put a level on it and adjusted bracket now all good :p

Laile Beatrush rear Strut Brace - buy here
Ordered this about 4 months ago and completely forgot about it, arrived this week as they had no stock so had to wait till next run of that model

pretty easy install remove all floor and take off strut bolt nuts, i thought i could get away without cutting any trim but had to do some for the plastic and foam inserts either side. super happy though can feel it already in the tail feels stiffer and fully hidden under the floor :)
