After some searching through forums and the like and being sick of the Japanese headunit.
I went with the OEM Audio unit from a company in Christchurch.
For my series of levorg I had the carrozzeria headunit.
With the OEM audio unit it comes with the surround. The screen is actually attached to the new surround.
My car had the etc and Japanese dash cam installed. This was wired into the factory wiring behind the headunit. So I removed both the dash cam and etc and this simplified everything behind the stereo back to factory.
There was only 1 other thing I couldn’t identify which was a 7.5 amp fuse tapped into the ignition power.
Once I was back to factory wiring the new unit was a plug and play install.
Having wireless CarPlay in a big bonus. And now my hand frees calling is much nicer.
would recommend for those looking to upgrade
Will look to add more audio down the track as the unit has rca connections.
